To spread awareness among people regarding the rich bio-diversity in Thane’s Yeoor forests and about cleanliness, NGO Paryavaran Sanvardhan Sanstha along with Adventure N group and forest officials, had organised a forest cleanup drive and tree plantation programme on on World Environment Day, June 5.

The group collected 10 bags full of plastic waste and beer bottles.

"Once a week, forest officials carry out a clean up drive at the Yeoor forests and this time we planned to do it in a grand way. We also planted 20 trees," said Omkar Adhikari, founder president of Paryavaran Sanvardhan Sanstha.

Omkar urged people to maintain cleanliness and stop littering around the area.
